Tiz it's for very fine detail on bodywork repair. What are you wanting to do? I can try to advise.

Dennab thank you, got a few scuffs and scratches on the car. 2 are minor but one i would approx is about 2cm deep

Tiz 2cm deep? Do you mean 2mm or is it 2cm long? The first thing I'd try is some some rubbing compound and a microfibre cloth. Maguiars Ultimate Compound isn't too harsh. That stuff rubs a very fine layer of the paint away so the paintwork eventually becomes level with the scratch and it's hidden. You may find that a pro wouldn't charge much to sort those scratches though.

This stuff is always around £2 - £3 but for a very specific use. Do not be fooled into thinking this will magically repair your car. It's one product in a long and skilled process. It's not for filling heavy damage but more for fine detail eg sanding scratches. Filler primer spray paints will do the same job as this stuff these days. The only advantage of using knifing putty is the more localised control you have with applying it vs spray paint.

Thanks for your advise Dennab I've ordered this one to use on my car's door. Do you think it's a good idea? I was thinking to clean the small dots of rust first, apply this and then paint over

Thomas18 Yes make sure you clean the rust off and leave a rough surface for that putty to adhere to. Once dry (I leave overnight), make sure you sand it to around 600 grit smoothness before putting paint on. Are you using a touch up brush? It won't look perfect but worth a go. If the damage was larger and you were using spray paint, you'd need to treat a bigger area around it to ensure the colour is matched. I'd personally use a little touch up pen but with the brush to do that. You'll need to apply lacquer afterwards (usually around half an hour after the colour goes on). Then wait as long as possible (at least 24hrs) before giving the finished job a good polish with some compound. You can probably get kits with the colour, lacquer and stuff to polish online. I'd also advise checking the colour matches before applying it. I would also mask off the good paint work around the damage before doing any sanding or painting.

Dennab thanks a lot! I've seen a video on youtube advising to use nail polish for this small type of jobs. Do you think it's a good idea?

Thomas18 You could try and just sand it off if it doesn't work. Getting a colour match will be hard that way though.

Dennab thank you! I'll give it a try and hope for the best. In case it won't work out, I'll just sand it off like you said. Thanks! 👍
