Hey! We have always dreamt of sending glitches through the Messenger app, however we have a problem which we can't seem to overcome -
Glitches only last 12 minutes (on average). If we send a message to thousands of people, the vast majority won't be able to get it. So for 99% of people it's a frustrating message as the glitch has already gone.
I'm feel quite uneasy about sending a message to so many people, only for them to find its expired as that's always rubbish.
If you can think of a different solution, I'm all ears as this is the dream!
Tom Can't you use a service such as https://www.msghero.com/ to push out your messages? I'm not sure if they offer an API though, so you may not be able to tie it into your current application. Still though, it may be a good way to reach out to your users.
Failing that, you may be able to build a small network of servers to fulfil your requests. That would break up the load for each server making processing times a faster. Hope this gives you some ideas.
MrJarrodNoonan Thank you for your message - yes, we have the technology to do it, that's no problem - it's the user-experience side of things. Would you be frustrated if you received a message and when you clicked on it the deal was already expired? Or would it be fine?
Tom I guess that would depend on how long it would take from sending out the message to us receiving it. I think if that given variable is within a reasonable time, most users would be happy to at least have the chance to make use of these glitches.
If it's decided that you can't build this functionality into the Facebook Bot, then perhaps you could look at using the Black Friday mobile app that you built and send out push notifications instead. That way, users would still be notified.
