Despite being relatively inexpensive, this thermometer is actually pretty accurate. I measured steam coming from a boiling kettle peaking at 99.0 degrees C. That's only a 1% level of error. Certainly accurate enough for anything I'll be using it for.
I brought one of these for work through one of our suppliers & paid nearly £80 they are good but you do have to be closer than the 2m distance
We have one just like this at home would be good to get a spare one for when we go away thank you for sharing

These are totally useless Chinese Tat . Wildly inaccurate for medical use in fact dangerously so .
All these are good for is finding where the cold spots are on your radiators (sludge build up) .
Sometimes I am so disappointed and worried for the LD membership if they "like" useless rubbish like this .
kane122 I assure you looks aren't everything ! Surely you know that ? These are cheap Chinese DIY IR thermometers . I have one that looks exactly the same (except its orange ) and cost £7.99 and is maybe accurate to about 10 -15% , totally useless for medical applications - indeed dangerous if you were foolish enough to rely on it .
For accuracy spend £10 on a normal thermometer or fork out the thick end of £100 for a medical grade one like the schools use .

kane122 Hopefully no one would ever be foolish enough rely on any readings it may give . according to mine my temp is 33 C (should be 37 C) - so I guess I must be clinically dead !
As I said fine for seeing how much sludge you have in your radiators but for medical use - No !

The offer does sound good.. but maybe it's too good to be true in the sense that there must be a reason they are selling it much cheaply. A part of me wants to buy it but the sensible part of me says listen to the reviews about this product on Amazon .. they're not good.

We have used several types of these at work. After a while the readings are longer accurate and most people’s reading would put them on the slab!!

When something is too good to be true it usually is.
Delivery is August that's if it ever arrives.
Something travelling that distance by post more than likely will not be accurate if it arrives, settings could all be bashed about!!!
