I use this product a couple of years ago and I found it worked better mixing it with a tiny bit of moisturiser which turned it more into a foundation similar to the Estée Lauder foundation. For that reason I would recommend going a shade darker than you would normally do because the moisturiser will lighten it up a bit.
There are many colours to choose from and it also has the benefit of a serum as well as a foundation.
