Now is not a good time to start your wildflower patch: it's too hot and dry for seeds to germinate. But did you know you can sow seeds in Autumn?
It can be tricky but there are lots of great reasons to sow at this time of year: the thrill of flowers blooming in Spring or Summer, the chance to enjoy the outdoors before Winter sets in, and it's a great time to use any seeds you've collected this Summer.
Sign up to receive emails from this Autumn that walk you through what tools and resources you will need, how to prepare the soil, what seeds to use, how to sow them and then what to look out for during Winter and into Spring.
We also have sets of wildflower seeds to help get you started! These are allocated based on a combination of first come, first served and the extent to which you'll be involving the people Grow Wild most wants to get growing. Find out more in our T&Cs.
i have had these in the past . i gave them to a local primary school . you also get bug boxes with them to make with children . if you want to help the bess and butterflies i say order a packet or two . why not give some to a local group like the brownies or scouts
These are brilliant I gave them to my mum as she has enough space for it to make a difference to the bees.
I love wild flowers, I had some last year and they had a few bees come to them along with other insects
