Visiting – Go explore!

Each September thousands of volunteers across the country invite you to experience local history, architecture and culture. All for free.

HODs returns: 10-19 September 2021 - find an event taking place near you using our online event directory.

New events are added to the directory each day, so do check back for more as we build up to the festival.

Safeguarding: For the best festival experience please take note, then take part!

tumblespots when I was at school history was my favourite subject and I loved the school trips to places of historical interest. In West Bromwich there is a historical building called The Oak House. If that is on the list of historical places then I would definitely go there again.

Love this! I spent a lot of time wandering stately homes and manors as my uncle had a membership for the National Trust. Some of my best days out for sure

They do this each year in September, a great chance for everyone to enjoy somewhere that could have been too expensive otherwise. Enjoy!
