How hard is your water? Find out with a free water hardness test strip.

Is my water soft or hard? Does it have high or low carbonate hardness? We encounter these questions in daily life because certain water traits can affect the taste, odour and appearance of our food and beverages we consume. If you want to enjoy the best tasting coffee and tea and top quality meals, you should definitely test your water’s hardness.

How to take a water hardness test

The quickest and simplest way to test water hardness is with a water hardness test strip. These strips, which should only be used

BRITA water hardness test with unfiltered water, show you the degree of hardness of the water from your tap. Simply dip a test strip in cold tap water for a few seconds. Then remove it and watch for it to change colour. Now compare it to the colour chart to determine your tap water’s hardness.

BRITA filtered water for great tasting water

BRITA water filter cartridges reduce limescale along with taste and odour impairing substances like chlorine. That’s why our water filter jugs protect your kitchen appliances from limescale built up and improve the flavour of your coffee, tea and favourite dishes.

You can actually taste the difference BRITA filters make. Simply brew a cup of coffee or make a cup of tea using BRITA filtered water. You’ll immediately notice your drink tastes and smells better.

This is a great find - I would be really interested in finding out the status of my tap water, when I first moved into my Flat, it was yellowish colour with a horrible odour to it 🙈 it seems fine now, but I still buy bottled water to be safe.

You might be hard pressed to find bottled water now (in these uncertain times) but if you think it is bad from the tap you could boil it to be sure it is ok to drink? 🐞

tumblespots yes it's mad how much stock keeps going so quickly in my local supermarket 😔 I'm struggling to feed my family right now it's such a scary time for everyone. Yes I will only use the tap water if it's for boiling the kettle or boiling veg on the cooker. Thankyou for your advice 💕
