Autumn Savings Alert: Asda & M&S Slash Prices on 400+ Items!
Hey Deal Hunters! It's time to stock up and save. Ruby Flanagan at Mirror reported that Asda and M&S have rolled out major price cuts on over 400 items combined, just as we're getting ready for the winter season.
Asda is investing a whopping £9million to bring down prices by around 14% on 232 popular items we all love, from bread and veggies to fresh meat. M&S is keeping our autumn cravings in mind, focusing on "Autumn essentials". They've reduced prices on British beef mince, tuna steaks, and over 15 soups by about 11%.
A bit of background for you: Recent research from Asda's Income Tracker showed over 60% of households experienced a dip in disposable income - about £80 less monthly than two years ago. And Asda's not new to the price cut game; they've poured £44million into price reductions just since summer.
Asda's top brass, Kris Comerford, mentioned this is their third major price drop campaign in just four months, aiming to support all of us during our weekly shops. Meanwhile, Alex Freudmann of M&S emphasized the brand's unmatched quality and their commitment to pass on savings as part of their "trusted value promise".
Here's a taster of the price drops:
-Asda: Braeburn Apples now at £1.80/kg (was £2), Strawberries 12x350g now £2.15 (was £2.50), and Gammon Steaks 250g for £2.25 (was £2.50).
-M&S: Tuna Steaks now £5.50 (was £6.50), British Beef Mince at £4.25 (down from £5), and Cherry Tomatoes at £1 (was £1.40).
Tom Church, Co-Founder of shopping community LatestDeals.co.uk, summed it up perfectly: "These price cuts from two major retailers show a commitment to support households and offer real value as we head into colder months." Happy shopping, Deal Hunters!
Good to hear that some supermarkets are doing more to help with the cost of living. Asda is a favourite supermarket and I know that I can get everything I need from one store.
I shop at Asda sometimes but also M&S. some prices in M&S are ridiculous but some are cheaper than Aldi.
Asda should check the reviews of some of the “taste like M&S“ products.
some of the reviews are shocking and only saving 10p on some items. It’s a really poor attempt to get people through their doors.
