*Please read if you're thinking of ordering. TLDR: It falls out of support in 6 months, and in my view is expensive for what it is*
Thanks for posting Maryghosh
I've posted similar before, but just in case you and others aren't aware...
Chromebooks are awesome, pretty much continue to work the same as the first day you open them for many years and don't really slow down. We've got one, it's great
However, as they're basically reliant on being connected to a network it's really important to know they only get updated for a certain period (I think it's 6 years from when they're released, but not 100% sure on that)
You can go to this website to check when a machine will stop getting updates https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/6220366
As you can see, this one (HP 11 G5) will stop getting updates in June 2022... So only about 6 months left.
This doesn't mean it will stop working straight away, but it will become less secure over time and you may have problems trying to run updated apps etc
This also shows how old the machine is, so its not really fair to consider its RRP as its true value at this point, never mind that this one is used / refurbished
Knowing this, I'm afraid I don't consider this very good value at this point, and you'd be FAR better spending more money if you're able, and get something newer, which will perform better, and be useful and secure for significantly longer
Again, if you're aware of that and happy then have at it, but I would hate for people to get this then be disappointed in 6 months

Ahh ok we already have apple laptop & a old hp laptop think I will skip this 1 thanks for your information much appreciated
johnnyhatesjazz if your old laptop doesn't perform very well, have you thought about putting Linux on it?
I've got a very old windows device (probably 9 years old), which wasn't very high spec when new and over time took ages to even turn on with Windows... Now it's useable for browsing the net and YouTube with Ubuntu operating system.
Bit of a learning curve if you're not already familiar (I had to go through that) but I found it quite interesting, and means less tech going to landfill so quickly
Free and open source software for personal use... https://ubuntu.com/#download
SkyUK will continue with what I have was interested just as another spare thanks

Some interesting comments on here regarding this refurbished Chromebook, which I will have to take onboard.
I was thinking of getting this. But after reading the comments I have changed my mind. Thanks anyway.
