The fun part about owning a rum distillery is making the rum! Our goal every day is to ensure the rum we make tomorrow, is better than the rum we made yesterday. We never want to stop experimenting and improving. But the planet should not have to suffer because of the ambition of Two Drifters, we want to make the best rum, but we don’t get to do that hurting the planet. So, making rum that does not contribute to climate change is also our mission.

Every aspect of Two Drifters has been assessed for its environmental impact, we then find ways to lower it. Once we cannot lower our emissions any further, we permanently remove what is left with carbon capture and storage. The CO2 emissions produced for Two Drifters, in the last five years, have been permanently removed with Climeworks - please have a look at this amazing & vital technology.

However, the point is that we don't remove very much with Climeworks, we prioritise carbon avoidance over everything else.

How we are different

100% recycled aluminium bottles for use on airlines (lightweight and made from post-consumer recycled aluminium – very low emissions)

Labels made from waste sugar cane fibre.
