What Do You Want Alerts For?

Latest Deals

Good evening Ladies and Lords of LD,

We are planning the ability to have personalised alerts - notifications for things that you want to follow.

What alerts would you want? For example:

  • An alert for every 'Argos' deal?
  • An alert for every 'Yankee Candle' deal?
  • An alert for every freebie posted by XYZ member?
  • An alert for every 'deal stack'?
  • An alert for everything a member posts?
  • An alert for every voucher code for 'Tesco'?
  • An alert for every 'Bombay Saphire Gin' deal?
  • Something else?

It'd be very helpful to listen to how you would use alerts (imagine you get a notification on your phone) so we can create a system that works for you.

It would be Gordons Pink Gin for me - I realise that sounds sooooo bad - but the prices vary so much that I'd like the best deals.

I would say an alert for store vouchers like clothing brands I.e. New Look, H&M etc. Also, alert for Boots recent deals like £10 Tuesday, Wellbieng Wednesday, and £5 Friday.

Thank you for this. I think it will be possible to do alerts for say, every Boots deal posted on site, but I’m not sure how we’d differentiate between them for just select Boots deals you’re interested in... if you have any ideas, please do shout!

Do you mean like a notification that pops up on your phone without having the mobile app open?

If so, I'd like a notification if someone replied to a comment that I'd posted in Chat. Not fussed on 'likes'.

That and wine 'glitches' on Amazon. Picked up a nice 6 bottles for around £17 recently.

Was it the Kumala Pinotage by any chance? Me too and in Wales - £2.96 a bottle winner!

Would be great to set keyword alerts such as "gin" "Glitch" then if you add that keyword you get a notification when one is posted maybe?

Also, being able to "follow" a user if you think they post good deals and want to see what they have posted

Alerts for any given shop or keyword would be good!

I’d want to be able to get alerts for voucher codes for certain websites I buy form a lot since it would allow me to save money more easily as I could buy when I know a code becomes available.

Tom Holland and Barrett, The Works, SnapFish, The Entertainer and for various supermarkets (eg the money off a product type codes from Tesco) would be handy.

I would like to be able to choose my alerts for supermarkets. There’s such a variation in prices for toiletries etc I like to know who has a good offer on. Also price alerts for Whiskey 😂

I’d like to see one for glitches, but really good glitches, where perhaps where the trending status shoots up significantly within day an hour?

An alert with anything that has the magic word 'Glitch' in it for me. But we all need to have the functionality to switch these on or off whatever they maybe

Alerts for certain products would be great but some decent deals though, i wouldn't want to get bombarded with poor deals for example elbow grease £1 on amazon from £2.01 when you can get in home bargains for £0.80p.

Perhaps if members interacted with the site , ie used the existing search functions , then they would not need to be "spoon fed" alerts for their particular preferences ?

I think an alert for a new sale for any shop would be helpful as I’m always too late to be able to buy anything in sales 😂

Ok great, so if you have a look through this page, can you imagine or would it be helpful if you could get an alert for each of these posts?

It would be great to get alerts for key items that you are keeping a look-out for such as Gin or Chocs. My favourite place for deals at the moment is Yankee Bundles. Not sure I need an alert as I am on their website fairly regularly.

I check out the notifications for the Freebie and Competition Success page every day and that seems to work well.

Xx

I want to be able to specify the alert and be able to change it. For example I'm currently looking for a good deal on a hoverboard for an upcoming birthday, after end of September I need to be score specify want kids want for xmas. Would also set alerts for glitch and deal stack.
