I tend to use electric stubble trimmer most of the time, but years ago I read the following article, so for the times I want a really clean shave I got some kit as mentioned in the article and am still on my first pack of blades... So much cheaper, and better than all that wasted plastic too
Please note it's an old article, so the general advice will be right, but worth shopping around for exact products
emmabeckz Hmm, I understand you have to make money but that's pretty frustrating as it could potentially save your members a lot
Ok.. I'll type something up in case anyone bothers reading my rambling (if useful hopefully I'll get a few likes / extra points or even a voucher for my time )
Ok, so the short version is that shaving companies make lots of money through their products, especially the blades
They say if you shave your face, legs, armpits or whatever it's perhaps worth considering a safety razor
You'll need a handle, brush, foaming cream and then finally some blades. I've found that I can have at least a few full face shaves with a single blade, and as below the blades can be gotten for less than 7p each
The original article includes links to many options… I ended up with a Wilkinson sword one that was on offer when I originally looked. I've had a few years, still looks brand new with no rust etc so would recommend, even if there may be better more expensive ones
Here's a link to what looks like the handle, brush and cream I got - if you're going for this I'd say it's worth checking your local supermarket as it might be cheaper separately, but knowing how many uses you'll get from this kit with a few blades to get you started, it's good even at this price… www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0B918P5SJ
Again, this is just what I got, have a bit of a search as there's loads of options / brands / colours / materials etc for the handle
Then when you've used the blades that come just search for ‘double edge razor blades’ - can't remember which I bought but loads with good reviews on Amazon that end up at around 6p or 7p per blade, for example - www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004SGKMA0
Couple of videos to get you started
Hope this is useful to someone - posted the same info (and Emma's reply , understand why she needed to) on a few relevant deal pages
