Own a Nintendo Switch? Running out of storage space?
You need a Micro SD Card! Here’s some good ones at Amazon UK to choose from…
If you’ve got a Nintendo Switch then you’ve probably discovered that the console only comes with a measly 32GB of internal storage. Nowhere near enough if you want to buy your games digitally or pick up a lot of DLC. Just one game can fill that paltry 32GB.
Fortunately the Switch has a Micro SD card slot for expansion, so it’s very easy to boost your storage capacity. You just need to choose whether to buy a top end Micro SD 256GB (expensive), or a lower-capacity 64GB card (cheap) or somewhere in between.
What Micro SD Card you choose is a matter of balancing your budget and your storage needs as prices go from around £20 up to £125.
Here’s some of the best Nintendo Switch Micro SD cards you can buy online from Amazon UK, listed by capacity:
Samsung 256GB EVO+ Micro SD
The Samsung 256GB EVO+ Micro SD is certainly not a cheap option, but it is good value. What’s great about investing in a larger MicroSD Card is that you don’t have to worry about carrying around multiple MicroSD Cards for a much longer time. You should be able to store about 20 games on one. I’ve added a few examples of Nintendo Switch Game Download sizes below, to give you an idea.
RRP: £139
Amazon Price £124.66
SanDisk Ultra 200GB Micro SD
The SanDisk Ultra 200GB Micro SD is another good option, and a good balance between storage capacity and price. A high quality card from a well respected brand.
Amazon Price £65.99

Toshiba Exceria 128GB Micro SD
128GB should be enough storage for most Nintendo Switch owners and this Toshiba Micro SD offers excellent value.
RRP: £44.99
Amazon Price: £37.89

SanDisk Ultra 128GB Micro SDXC
If you won’t be downloading many games then 128GB Micro SD cards provide a good balance between cost and capacity. You could even consider buying two 128GB Micro SD cards and exchanging them as needed. Again you can’t really go wrong with a SanDisk.
RRP: £40.99
Amazon Price: £39.89

Samsung EVO 128GB MicroSDXC
This Samsung 128GB offers enough space for quite a few downloads at a reasonable price too.
RRP: £49.00
Amazon Price: £42.18
Toshiba Exceria 64GB Micro SD
64GB isn’t much, but 64GB cards are pretty cheap. If you’re going to be mostly buying cartridge games that don't need to be installed on the console rather than downloading
them, a 64GB card is ideal. It’ll still give a good boost to the rather weedy 32GB onboard memory for basic stuff lik game patches and DLC.
RRP: £19.99
Amazon Price: £17.99
