Apply now for our Warm Home Discount – Support Plus rebate

The 2018/19 Warm Home Discount rebate scheme is now open. It’s the eighth year this government scheme has been running and there's still a limit to the number of Support Plus rebates we can pay out under the scheme. So if you’re eligible don’t delay – apply now.

Warm Home Discount – Support Plus rebate

You can still apply for our Warm Home Discount – Support Plus scheme. There are certain eligibility criteria you need to meet.

Check if you’re eligible for the Warm Home Discount – Support Plus scheme

To qualify for Support Plus, you, or another named EDF Energy account holder living at the property must be in receipt of one of the following seven benefit combinations:

(1) Income Support and one of the following:

Has parental responsibility for a child under the age of 5 who ordinarily resides with you

Receives a disabled child premium or Child Tax Credit which includes a disability or severe disability element

Receives a disability premium, enhanced disability premium, severe disability premium

Receives a Disability Living Allowance, Personal Independence Payment or Attendance Allowance for you or another adult living with you

Receives a pensioner premium, higher pensioner premium or enhanced pensioner premium

(2) Income-related Employment and Support Allowance and one of the following:

Has parental responsibility for a child under the age of 5 who ordinarily resides with you

Receives a disabled child premium or Child Tax Credit which includes a disability or severe disability element

Receives a disability premium, enhanced disability premium, severe disability premium

Receives a Disability Living Allowance, Personal Independence Payment or Attendance Allowance for you or another adult living with you

Receives a pensioner premium, higher pensioner premium or enhanced pensioner premium;

Receives a work related activity or support group component

(3) Income-based Job Seekers Allowance and one of the following:

Has parental responsibility for a child under the age of 5 who ordinarily resides with you

Receives a disabled child premium or Child Tax Credit which includes a disability or severe disability element

Receives a disability premium, enhanced disability premium, severe disability premium

Receives a Disability Living Allowance or Personal Independence Payment or Attendance Allowance for you or another adult living with you

Receives a pensioner premium, higher pensioner premium or enhanced pensioner premium

(4) Universal Credit and have earned less than £1,349 in at least one month since 1 March 2018 and one of the following:

Has parental responsibility for a child under the age of 5 who ordinarily resides with you

Receives a disabled child premium or Child Tax Credit which includes a disability or severe disability element

Receives a disability premium, enhanced disability premium, severe disability premium

Receives a Disability Living Allowance or Personal Independence Payment or Attendance Allowance for you or another adult living with you

Receives a pensioner premium, higher pensioner premium or enhanced pensioner premium

(5) Child Tax Credit by virtue of an award which is based on your annual income not exceeding £16,190

(6) Working Tax Credit and you have a household income of £16,190 or less and one of the following:

Has parental responsibility for a child under the age of 5 who ordinarily resides with you

Receives a disabled worker element or severe disability element, Disability Living Allowance or Personal Independence Payment or Attendance Allowance for you or another adult living with you

Is aged 62 years or over

(7) Pension Credit – Pension Credit – Savings Credit ONLY (eg you do not receive the Guarantee Credit element of Pension Credit)

If you get Pension Credit which includes the Guaranteed Credit element on the qualifying date of 8 July 2018, you’ll automatically qualify for the Warm Home Discount rebate. If you’re not sure which elements of Pension Credit you get, contact the Pension Service or check your Pension Credit award notice.

How we check applications

IncomeMax, an organisation who works on our behalf, might ask you for documents that show you’re getting the right benefits.

When are rebates paid?

We hope to pay all Warm Home Discount rebates from October 2018 to the end of February 2019. And we hope to pay Warm Home Discount – Support Plus rebates from November 2018 to the end of February 2019. Both are one-off payments of £140.

Remember that you'll only get a rebate if your application’s successful and you’re still an EDF Energy customer when we come to pay it.

i asked, when i joined edf last feb,about warm home discount..i told them i am on ESA and was told i would automatically qualify..i never got a payment and they said i needed a guaranteed element of pension credit.this is for warm home discount but i believe the person said i qualify knowing about the warm home discount broader group and i should have got money. they did not pay me and still have not mention the broader group coz i think they know i qualify for it
