Iceland is launching their ‘Free on Last Day of Life’ initiative, which means you can now get free food products. Normally any food that you would have ordered online from Iceland would have a shelf life of at least two days, but now you can now get an item that is on its last day completely free!
All you have to do is add any items you want to your basket as usual and if an item is the only one left, and has the same day date, it will be added to your basket as usual. You'll be made aware of the free item ahead of delivery and you won't have to pay the original price.
Plus, all chilled, fresh, cakes, bread and morning goods will be included in the scheme why not browse through their website today? You can help cut down on food waste and get some free food out of it, it's a win win! If you were already planning on ordering the weekly shop soon, it's definitely worth considering Iceland.
Save an extra 5% with an Iceland Bonus Card. When you top-up £20 Iceland gives you £1 back. Plus you get free delivery when you spend over £25 in-store or £40 online.
Is this the cheapest price? Find out with our free supermarket price comparison app. Compare Iceland with Sainsbury's, ASDA, Morrisons, Tesco, Iceland, Ocado and Waitrose.
The minimum order value for online orders is £25 plus an additional delivery charge of £3, as shown at checkout. You will receive free delivery on all orders over £35. The minimum order value is calculated after all discounts and promotional offers have been applied.

Very commendable if only they delivered to us. Otherwise I would collect if not very late in evening, however, when I fill out details I get a message saying, they don't deliver to our area, I use to use them for my mum and they had great deals and prices, just don't deliver to my area
katherineannmil it may be woth asking a local community group like nextdoor who would use an iceland delivery serivce and if enough interest contact iceland as it may be worth their while
Always good to see food not going to waste. Iceland fresh fruit and veg is fairly bad before it gets to its best before date. I would not complain if it was free, but would not buy based on past experience.
I agree - their fresh fruit and veg is mouldy within a day of being delivered! No use by dates on their packaging either!
It's a good idea. They should do a waste not box like Lidl do which is great for prepping then freezing or using in cakes and bakes etc. I never get one as always miss out. Or are getting to much shopping to carry one. More shops should be trying to reduce waste more.
This is a great idea. And a good incentive for people to help reduce food waste. Thanks for posting Shellie123
Great that they are offering this now instead of expecting paying customers to accept it. I used to order it online but got loads of items delivered at night that had the next days date on all of meat I ordered , which I didn't realise and ended up throwing most of it away.
I don't Ever get food delivered, they should be doing this in store as well so people can get some food for free as not everyone can afford the amount of money to spend to get delivered but go in-store Every day to get something.
Good Idea especially items like bread which can be frozen from fresh and cans, which I assume have a best before but can't legally be sold? Im disabled so delivery has been literally a life saver. Fresh fruit from Iceland hasnt been great.
This is a brilliant idea and will save so much waste. Thanks for sharing it will be great to see how this plays out.
I have loads of short dated stuff delivered by iceland, and paid full price as i didnt realise until i went to put it away. It wont be where i live
I used to accept the short dated food but now I complain iceland is the only company who will bring out replacements and collect the item other supermarkets ask you to send them a photo via email and will then issue a refund
This is great news, and everyone benefits too. Hopefully i will be getting something in the future. Thanks for sharing this great deal.
What a great find, this will save so much waste, so glad they are doing this. Thank you for posting this.
Another fab deal by Iceland, they're one of the better supermarkets in my opinion. They seem to actually want to reduce waste and help the environment .
Thanks for sharing. This is great idea not to waste the food, but I do not understand how to get this items. Only in store? What time? (Because they only deliver next day...)
Great idea. Will certainly consider ordering from them more often from now on. It is a 'win-win' situation for all parties involved.
Great that Iceland are helping in the fight against food waste and will help many people who may struggle financially.
Its a great idea, although I really wouldn't want last day meat from them. The amount of times I've had meat go off days before its meant to. Although I suppose at least if its free you haven't lost anything
Quite a good deal and can see it being very popular. Thank you for doing something to combat hunger and poverty. No food waste.
How do you check the expiry date online? Or do you have to go in store to look at the date and then order online??
The last three times I have used Iceland which the first time was ace, I was disappointed the latter two as everything has that day or the day after on... Most of it went in the bin.. that's the beauty of going yourself and get the longest date you can from the back
Any such initiatives are to be welcomed particularly during the times we are about to see in the next few months . Members take note of the opportunity , but never forget that we will have a 10% increase in our weekly spend over the next few months (it's already started !) and budget accordingly .
Love that iceland are doing this which will save food waste and also give people a freebie
Thx for sharing this with us very handy offer and great the food doesn't go to waste, food banks would benefit from this instead though
I use Iceland as part of my top up shopping and try always have great offers just like this
What an excellent idea. And even more reason for me to stock up on the Ed's Easy Diner pancakes with bacon
I don't really see this as a deal.
You only have a chance of getting free stuff and can't just order it
I got some free croissants delivered yesterday which normally would cost £1, but then again, I paid 80p for my shopping to be delivered in 2 carrier bags. I'm not impressed with Iceland charging me 40p a bag when I don't want them anyway.
Smoke and mirrors comes to mind.
This is good..
Has anyone tried the to good to go app.
Its local businesses like greggs that sell still in date stuff cheap, thatthey would get rid of that day... Excellent value.
