Is it a bunny? Is it a bee? It’s whatever you want it to be! With this fun Chocolate Animal Making Kit you can let your imagination run free, creating and decorating a whole menagerie of cute chocolate creatures.
Easy-to-use chocolate animal-making kit
Melt. Brush. Pour. Refrigerate. If that makes it sound like chocolate animals are really easy to make – even if your skill level isn’t the highest – that’s because they are. This kit has everything you need to create first an egg-shaped body, and then all the little creature features that turn it into a rabbit, hen, fish or bee – all out of melted chocolate. Here’s just how easy it is…
Silicone moulds for the body
To make the body of your animal, just brush melted chocolate over the inside of the two silicone moulds, then leave to set in the fridge. Once this first layer has hardened, ‘paint’ on another layer and allow that one to set too, then repeat until the chocolate’s as thick as you want it – about 4 layers should be enough.
The silicone band around the edge of each mould helps them keep their shape while you’re coating and setting, but comes off easily when it’s time to turn out the finished halves. Then simply attach the two halves together using melted chocolate, or rest the outer rims on the bottom of a hot pan to melt a little before sticking them together and popping back in the fridge to set.
And if you fancy making your animal’s body out of something other than chocolate (you might!), you can always use the moulds to shape a gooey, chewy marshmallow and rice crispy cake.
Feature moulds for rabbit, hen, fish and bee
Which came first, the chicken or the egg? With this kit, it’s always the egg-shaped body… but once you’ve made that, there are four reusable plastic moulds to help you turn out all the little legs, feet, wings, fins, eyes and tails to transform it into a chicken; or a rabbit, or a fish, or a bee… you could even mix and match the features to create weird and wonderful creatures of your own, or adapt them to make other animals too. Simply pour melted chocolate into your chosen mould, place in the fridge to set, turn out and stick to the body with melted chocolate to turn your simple egg into a cute chocolate critter that’s ready to be gifted and devoured.
To ensure your wonderful creations don’t roll onto the floor once completed (how upsetting that would be?), each tray also includes a mould that makes a base for your chocolate animal to rest on – a flower for the bee, feet for the hen, an oval base for the fish and paws for the rabbit.
Fun for all the family
It’s so easy to use this kit that you can share the fun with your kids or grandchildren too. Whether it’s painting on chocolate, pouring it into the moulds, licking up the leftovers or sticking on the features, everyone can get involved. And once your animal is assembled, the fun can continue with children decorating their animals – jazzing them up with fabulous sparkly sprinkles, painting on pretty patterns with lustre dust… the possibilities are endless. If you’re feeling really creative, you could even make multiple animals and present them on a grass-green fondant icing field or a rolled out blue icing lake and make a deliciously edible diorama.
