The system hasn't picked this one up but what do you think is an acceptable time for something to be posted again? or, if the price has dropped?

Hi Bash

I think on Pedlar we agreed a deal could be re-posted after 2 weeks? So it just about slips through the net! Although happy to have a chat if you think it should be longer 🙂

Okay, I'm just wondering how it works.

So if something is on the site will it still be picked up if it has been posted within 14 days ?

Bash at the moment the duplicate detection isn't operating particularly well!

We used to take a URL and strip out all of the stuff after the "?". That worked to clear out all the gunk and create a unique URL for that deal. Unfortunately, on some websites, stripping out everything after the "?" broke the links.

So we've had to take a different tactic and keep all of the stuff after the "?". The downside of that is that for any given deal there can be hundreds of different URLs. It makes it more tricky to detect a duplicate.

The system needs to be updated to handle the above change and do something sensible. But I'm rambling - I think, in answer to your question - the duplicate detection system will only flag it as a duplicate if it has been posted within the last 2 weeks.

Hope that makes sense - think I got a little carried away 😁
