Savvy DIY pro turns unused cupboard into stylish dressing room for just £115

If you’ve got a cupboard stuffed with junk that you barely use, take inspiration from this savvy DIY pro, who turned an inefficient closet into a stunning dressing room.
Emma Tootill, 28, from Manchester, changed a former storage room into a dreamy space to get ready.
Emma, who works in the pharmacy sector, told money-saving community LatestDeals.co.uk: "I had a room with a mirror downstairs that I kept walking up and down to to look in the mirror as all my clothes were upstairs.
“We had this cupboard as a storage room for my partner's tools. We decided to make it a room with shelves in and a mirror at first but it was too small for the idea.
“We then threw some ideas round and did some measurements and came up with creating a dressing room.”
Emma set about transforming the space, using paint, shelving and storage boxes from budget brands.
Emma adds: "I painted all the walls grey. We bought seven shelves: five are floating shelves and the other two above the dressing table had to be cut down to fit the room.
"I used storage boxes for the simple things I use everyday and co-ordinated everything else so it was easily accessible for myself on everyday things. I bought six boxes from Wilko for £2.25 a box.
"It probably took us around two to three weeks in total - I just personalised it with pictures and candles as finishing touches. I spent a fair few hours moving things round!
"The paint was some old paint we had left over from painting the house a few months ago. The shelving was probably the most expensive as the cheapest we could find was from IKEA at around £9 a shelf.
"The lights were £1.50 from Asda per pack and the rest I already had in my house. I spent around £115 in total."
Emma is delighted with how her dressing room has turned out, and is equally chuffed she doesn’t need to keep going up and down the stairs to have a look at her outfits!
“The dressing room works amazingly - no more walking up and down the stairs,” she adds. "I absolutely love it - it's my own space!
“The best tip I could give is to reuse what you can, as you never know how good it will look in a different room and you don’t need tons of money to create something small."
