JasonRed23 It’s 39p off Amazon’s ’Was Price’

The RRP is around £11.00.

Johnny Standard price at Iceland is £7, Amazon sellers love to overinflate their RRP prices.

JasonRed23 Here's the Amazon price history from Camels.

This deal is from Amazon itself, not from one of the 300,000+ other Amazon marketplace sellers. Amazon itself does not intentionally inflate RRPs.

Don't forget the RRP is the suggested or recommended retail price of a product set by and provided by the manufacturer (in this Comfort Fabric Conditioner case, by Unilever).

Amazon have no say at all over what the RRP is. Amazon can only choose the price that they decide to sell the product for. The same is true for Iceland, Tesco, Sainsbury's etc.

I agree some of the other Amazon Marketplace sellers using the Amazon platform to sell their wares sometimes appear to inflate the 'before price' figures they use.

Personally I prefer to shop directly from Amazon itself if I can.

Johnny You're getting it totally wrong, the standard price is £7, end of. The fact that some Amazon sellers pretend it's worth £11 is a con. They do it time and time again, and if you choose to trust Amazon you're deluded. Take their recent price hike for Amazon Prime, another total con.

There is no such thing as "standard price".

Here are some other retailers' prices:

  • Ocado Was £9, now £7
  • Costco £7.99
  • Approved Food Was £11, now £10

The only constant (fixed) price in UK retail is the RRP which is the suggested or recommended retail price of a product set by and provided by the manufacturer. Retailers can only choose what price they want to sell the product for...like I said.

With regards to the upcoming increase to the Amazon Prime subscription price from £7.99 to £8.99 a month, this is the first price increase in eight years. It is equivalent to an annual price increase of 1.5%. Whether a Prime Subscription is good value depends on how much you make use of it.

The number of Prime subscribers has been growing very rapidly. Today, 13.35 million UK households have an Amazon Prime subscription (i.e, half of all UK households).

In the last five years Amazon have gained over nine million Prime subscribers.

Clearly millions of households find a Prime subscription worth paying for.

"Amazon said it expects to post third-quarter revenue between $125 billion and $130 billion, representing growth of 13% to 17%." - You haven't got a clue..

And of course Prime subscriptions have been rising rapidly, people are getting in before the price goes up on September 25! It's common sense, and I guarantee they'll fall in September 2023.

You seem a bit naïve when it comes to retail, not going to lie.

The number of Amazon Prime Subscriptions has been rising rapidly over the last 5 years. Not just over the last few weeks. Doh!

"Bit naive when it comes to retail" eh? That's hilarious! 😂😂😂

Perhaps you haven't yet noticed that there is a huge chasm between the facts and your 'opinion'. As to your "guarantee" that the number of Prime subscriptions will fall in September 2023, I'm afraid it's a worthless guess. Not even Amazon knows whether that will be the case, and you definitely don't.

What part of what I have said, if any, do you disagree with exactly?
