If your laptop/desktop is running very slow like mine was, then you could be tempted to buy a new faster computer.
However, the main reason that laptops and desktops go slow is due to a failing Hard Disk Drive.
Solid State Drives contain no moving parts unlike Hard Disk Drives so data speeds are much higher allowing for a much faster computer. This also means they last much longer and are not damaged by bumps and drops.
I have a laptop with an i7 processor so if i were to buy a new laptop due to it being slow, I would be looking at £500-£600 for a similar one where as replacing the HDD with a SSD cost me around £150 for 500gb. Now my laptop boots up and opens Word in around 25 seconds instead of minutes.
If you are happy with your laptop and its processor/memory etc, then upgrading to a Solid State Drive can be much cheaper.
