My mother had the 420 model which was a small upgrade on this model. I think it had a higher contrast panel and more ports and the wifi kept dropping and the screen kept going blank. Looking at reviews the wifi dropping was a common problem. These are made by the Turkish company Vestel and simply rebranded to JVC. It's a great price if you get a working one but don't be surprised if you get problems in which case I would insist on a refund rather than replacement as you'll likely get another set with faults.

Tortielove It's not really a quality brand, Currys has licensed the JVC brand and put it on a basic Vestel set from Turkey. The same sets come with other brands of much lesser reputation. It's only a brand slap. Back in the 70s to 90s JVC was a highly regarded Japanese electronics brand but nowadays its just licensing.

The picture quality from its own freeview tuner for standard definition broadcasts is very poor compared to many slightly more expensive brands. A very soft picture with slightly unrealistic colours. As you would expect from a low cost TV.

BonzoBanana thanks for the info. I didn’t know that. And I totally agree about it being a quality brand well into the 90’s. Had no idea about the Curry’s Licensing deal

Tortielove On the hotukdeals site someone is quite sure the 320 model is from a different manufacturer than the 420 it seems. So maybe my criticisms don't apply. They also state this set is worse than Vestel but the Vestel set had loads of issues so not sure how to process that information. The Vestel set was junk but this could be worse basically. I'm not sure it would be worse though. I don't it drops wifi in the same way or keeps showing a black screen.
