Ooh these are really good value for two, will let my hubby know to add to our Amazon order
This is a really good price for these plugs, they really help when paired with my alexa. Thanks for sharing this great deal.
What a great find, i have been after some to work my lamp and tv. Thank you for posting this great deal.
I don't really understand how these work. I've just read the Q and Answer section and somebody said they use it to turn on their kettle and toaster. How would that work then, as you have to press down the levers on my kettle and toaster to get them to function? Some people have said they use them with their lamp, but again one of mine is a touch lamp and the other a switch one? It says that you can't use them with washing machines, microwaves and other appliances like this? How are people actually using these, please? Thank you.
I forgot to add somebody uses them for their electric fans, but I have tower standing ones and again, you have to press a button to turn them on?
cinders regarding lamps you leave them in the switched on position, Alexa puts them into standby position, and at either set times or when you say Alexa turn on (named appliance ex lamp) it will switch it on. I have an annexe controlled lightbulb. I have given my lamp a name as in the instructions so Alexa knows which room and and which item. I have had no problems. I'm not sure how toasters or kettles may work, but think along the same lines. You would only use a kettle or a toaster whilst you're at home so as soon as trustee had popped you would reset it for next use,. With a kettle I would think the only real use c would be due either coming home after work to a nice hot kettle or first thing in the morning upon trying up. Also useful for disable people, but putting lights on is great for when perhaps you're out and want to get the place lighted up before you return. Also good as a burglar deterrent as think people are at home whilst away! You have to download the Alexa app where you can set up routines and skills after that you either leave it to run automatically or ask Alexa to turn such as such item on or off whatever the case maybe.
Brilliant price for two. We have them on lamps, tower fan, slow cooker, etc. Absolutely super items.
cinders you need to link these plugs with your Alexa then plug it into a plug socket switched to the on position. You then plug in the item you want to control eg for a lamp: insert the lamp plug into the smart plug which is already plugged into the wall socket which is in the on position. You can then control the lamp by voice, phone, etc.
Absolutely brilliant price. Many thanks!
I could use one for my slow cooker I see. However, am I right in saying that the plugs can't be used on items where you also need to use a lever to turn them on (even if power is switched on at the wall) - ie, an electric toaster which will only activate once the lever is pushed down, or an electric kettle with a lever as well? Thank you.
cinders yes you're right. If the lever doesn't stay in the on position when the plug is switched off then it won't work. I'm guessing there must be some kettles and toasters that allow this.
Good saving especially for 2 plugs .They look good value .Haven’t used them with Alexa before
Thankyou for sharing, I’m gonna give these a go. I’ve not tried a smart plug before. But will be great for straighteners and stuff. Because I always havd to go and double check I’ve switched them off lol x
