I am a great fan of the Yankee candle, and this is a lovely gift for anyone to receive. Thank you for sharing
Does anyone else think that putting a shade on the candle takes the smell away? Or is it just my imagination? I love the shades, I really think they’re prettier than just having a candle out with the stopper but I’m almost convinced it makes a difference to the smell. Someone put me right please!!
Inklady it would be blocking the scent to a point, as it will be going up and not to the sides too.
It’s more about the atmosphere with the shades, but they do help the candle burn evenly too and keeps the flame from moving about, keeping it where it needs to be and hopefully not drown in the pooled wax.
I’ve been using a shade more recently on my stronger scents and it works okay. I don’t smell it much until I leave the room and then come back in, I realise my nose was just used to it.
I usually prefer to use an illuma lid though, that does the same for the wick as a shade but allows more scent out around the sides. They have so many different designs to choose from. Would recommend everyone uses either a shade or one of these lids when using Yankee.
