Many kids are obsessed with animals, but not many have their very own jungle room.

Gabrielle Lloyd, 24 from Preston, Lancashire is a stay at home mum at the moment with a little boy called Max. She decided to totally transform Max’s room to reflect his love of animals using upcycling, DIY and animal accessories, and the results are amazing.

“My son absolutely loves animals, so I thought I could incorporate this into his bedroom so it would always be fun for him,” Gabrielle told LatestDeals.co.uk.

“I looked online at some ideas and I’ve always loved the thought of a teepee bed, and pitched the idea to my dad who said he would have a go at building the bed.

“A week later he had finished it and after staining it all it looked brilliant - exactly what I had in mind! I knew I needed leaves to imitate a jungle, so I got these on eBay and wrapped them all around the room.

“I found the tiger table on Wayfair and I upcycled some old drawers with white furniture paint and some animal knobs I had seen on Not On The High Street - they turned out to be exactly what I wanted!

“I then went on to pick up accessories, bedding and cushions which helped add more feel to the room.

“The bed cost around £50 to make, the table was around £100 and then the rest of the room cost around £100 to finish.”

Gabrielle found the animal print bedding from George at Asda for £10, the monkey from Homesense for £12.99, the globe for £15 from George at Asda, the rhino from Sainsbury’s for £10, three prints on eBay for £10 for three, and an elephant lamp from Dunelm for £27. She also picked up letters from Hobbycraft and painted them herself.

Gabrielle and Max are both delighted with how the room turned out. Gabrielle told LatestDeals.co.uk:“I love this room and I struggle to get my son out of it now it’s finished!”

Tom Church, co-founder of LatestDeals.co.uk, says: “Take a leaf out of Gabrielle’s book and transform your room. As Gabrielle proves, there’s no need to splurge on new furnishings: just replacing small things like knobs or adding some fun accessories can totally change the look of your home.”
